The story of the lion and the bull: ingenuity over brute force

Once upon a time there was a lion who always wanted to eat a strong bull. But every time it got close, it was scared off – because the bull was not only strong, but also had a pair of big sharp horns and kicked its legs with great force. The lion knew that if it went straight into the fight, it would definitely lose out.

So it decided to find a different way to solve the problem by using its brain instead of its strength. One day, it pretended to be polite and invited the bull to its home for dinner, saying it was to show its respect. The bull listened and thought about it, thought it was no problem, and agreed.

On the appointed day, the bull came to the lion’s house on time.Just inside the door, it saw a large set of tableware, pots and pans, looks like a big feast. The lion enthusiastically said: “Please sit, please sit, I will go to cook.”

But the bull did not sit down, instead he smiled and said, “Thank you for your kindness, but I’d better go back first.”After saying this, he turned around and was about to leave.

The lion was a little surprised and asked, “Why don’t you eat before you go?”

The bull stopped and said, “Don’t pretend, in fact, I know it very well in my heart. You’re not really inviting me to dinner at all, but you want to sneak up on me while I’m sitting down, right? These big cutlery are the evidence.Did you prepare so many things with the intention of eating me?”

When the lion heard this, he knew that he could not hide it, so he had to bow his head and admit defeat. This “beautiful meal” is also so ruined.

This story tells us a truth: sometimes just rely on strength can not solve the problem, have to use their brains to think of ways. But it is also important that we learn to observe all the details around us.Just like the bull in the story, he was not fooled by the superficial enthusiasm, but by looking and thinking carefully, he found the hidden danger and finally succeeded in protecting himself.

So, whether in life or at work, paying more attention to the small things around you may avoid a lot of trouble.
