Well, I decided to dig into the most common ethical dilemmas of the 21st century. First, I started by doing some basic research. I just went on the internet, typed in some related keywords, and started skimming through a bunch of articles. There were so many different things being talked about, like privacy issues, environmental concerns, and fairness in technology.
Then, I thought it’d be cool to talk to some real – life people. I hit up my friends at a local coffee shop. We sat around, sipping our lattes, and started chatting. One of my buddies brought up how social media companies handle our personal data. He was all, “Dude, they’re just collecting everything we do, and we don’t even really know what they’re gonna do with it.”
I also decided to visit a library. Yeah, I know, old – school. But there were some great books on ethics. I spent hours sitting at a table, flipping through pages, taking notes like a crazy person. I found out that experts say privacy has become a huge ethical headache in this digital age. Like, 80% of people are worried about how their data is being used, according to some study I read.
After that, I wanted to see things from a business perspective. So, I reached out to a couple of small business owners. I asked them how they deal with ethical issues, like when it comes to sourcing materials. One owner told me he had a hard time finding suppliers who were environmentally friendly but also cost – effective. He said it was like walking a tightrope every day.
I also attended a small seminar on ethics. It was a bit boring at first, but then the speakers started sharing some real – life case studies. There was this one about a tech startup that had to decide whether to release a new app that could invade people’s privacy a little bit to make it more useful. It was a tough call, and the discussion after that was super heated.
Finally, after all this research and talking to people, I sat down at my computer to write down my findings. I just let it all flow, putting down all the thoughts and stories I’d gathered. It was a long process, but in the end, I felt like I really understood the most common ethical dilemmas of the 21st century. And I hope by sharing this, you guys can get a better sense of it too.
