My Own Conclusions & How I Roll Now
After all that digging and talking? Here’s where I landed personally:
- The “Don’t” in Leviticus feels culturally specific tied to idol stuff, but the principle behind it matters – don’t misuse your body based on false beliefs or the world’s pressures.
- The “temple” thing is HUGE. My body isn’t mine to trash. Any tattoo needs deep respect – for my body itself and for Whose it is.
- Motivation is EVERYTHING. Am I trying to be cool? Reckless? Or is there real meaning? A cross? A verse reminder? My kids’ names?
- Could it trip someone up? Gotta think about weaker believers or my witness. Slapping a skull dripping blood might not send the right vibe.
- Prayer, seriously. Didn’t rush. Prayed about the design, the placement, the whole nine yards.
End result? I actually did get one. Small meaningful one. Felt peaceful about it. It’s personal, points me (and hopefully others who ask) back to God’s grace in my life.
