Alright so yesterday I decided to test out Aphrodite builds in Hades 2. Kept seeing folks talk about her boons being “support,” figured nah, gotta be more. Grabbed my controller, fired up the game, and dove right in expecting chaos.
Getting My Butt Kicked First
Started fresh, aiming for Aphrodite right off. Chose the Rose instead of Cerberus (sorry buddy, gotta experiment). First few runs? Disaster. Kept picking her boons whenever they popped up, just grabbing whatever seemed shiny. Big mistake. Found myself dodging around like a headless chicken, whacking enemies with a wet noodle. Died super fast against the first real bosses. More like rage-quit material.
Actually Paying Attention This Time
Took a break, grabbed some coffee. Went back in, actually read what her boons did instead of just smashing the “Equip” button. Here’s the trial-and-error crap that worked:
Stopped forcing her attack boons. Focused on Dash and Cast buffs first, then looked for Heart Breaker. Game changer.
Making Enemies My Puppets
This was the real trick I stumbled onto like an idiot in my third run. Aphrodite’s charm effect is nuts. Doesn’t just distract one guy – turns the whole battlefield into a bar fight where everyone’s swinging at each other.
Finally Clapped Some Megaera Cheeks
Ended up with a run focusing on Aphrodite’s dash, Heart Breaker, Born a Fighter, and grabbed a Poseidon knockback boon on my special as a cherry on top. Ran circles around enemies, charmed groups, and let chaos reign.
Honestly, it felt kinda cheesy. Aphrodite isn’t just support; she turns the game into a brawl where your enemies do half the work for you. Don’t be like me trying to force her basic attacks. Go for chaos and disruption. Let them punch each other. Grab the Rose Keepsake early, focus on Dash and Charm effects, then laugh your way to victory.
