Fairy Tales: The Giant and the Witch

1. Cinderella goes in search of a fairy

There was a girl named Cinderella who heard that a wicked witch had turned many children into birds. To save these children, she decided to go to a fairy who lived on Thorn Hill and ask her advice on how to defeat the witch.

Cinderella had no wings, but the fairy helped her by giving her a pair of cicada-like wings. With these wings she could fly.

2. Flying through the forest and seeing the giant plants

Cinderella flew and flew and came to a forest. The plants and trees here were all very big, many times bigger than what she usually saw.

She was a little tired, so she stopped to rest in a flower. At this point she was like a little bee, just able to stand on the petals of the flower and rest her feet.

She was hungry, so she picked an apple to eat. The apple was bigger than her body. She ate and ate until she was full, and in the end she ate only a small piece.

After eating, she continued to fly forward, but it wasn’t long before she realized that there was a big mountain blocking her way.

3. The mountain was actually moving!

Cinderella thought to herself, “Is this mountain the thorny mountain I’m looking for? So she tried to climb it to see.

But just as she reached the top, the whole mountain suddenly began to shake.

“Oh no! An earthquake!” She exclaimed.

But when she fixed her eyes on it, she realized that it wasn’t a mountain, but a sleeping giant. It was so big that it looked like a mountain when it lay down to rest.

4. Talk to the Giant and Get Help

The giant also noticed Cinderella. He sat up, looked at her curiously, and said, “Are you Thumbelina? How come you are so small, not as big as my finger?”

Cinderella hastily replied, “I am not Thumbelina, I am Cinderella. I want to go to Thorn Mountain, do you know the way?”

When the giant heard that it was Cinderella, he immediately became enthusiastic: “Oh, so it’s that Cinderella who has helped so many people! I know the way. Not far beyond this forest is Thorn Mountain.”

Then he said, “I’ll tell you what, I’ll take you there. It’s only a few steps for me. You’re so small that you could easily get lost if you went alone.

Having said this, the giant let Cinderella sit on his shoulder and prepared to take her away.

5. The Witch Comes and the Danger

They had only taken two steps when Cinderella suddenly shouted, “Stop! There’s a witch over there!”

The giant looked up and saw a woman in a black robe coming that way in the distance. It was the person Cinderella was most afraid of – the Witch of the Waste.

Cinderella quickly said, “Mr. Giant, please put me down. The Witch is very powerful, and she is best at controlling the wind. She also has an oolong magic wand, it’s too dangerous. I don’t want to get you involved.”

The giant laughed and said, “You’ve seen how big and strong I am, haven’t you? I’m like a mountain, the wind can’t bring me down.”

But before he could finish his sentence, a gust of wind blew, and the giant was blown to the ground.

6. The Giant Stepped in to Protect Cinderella

By this time, the Witch had already come forward. It turned out that she had been secretly following Cinderella. When she saw Cinderella flying toward the Thorn Mountain, she knew that she was going to the fairies to figure out a way to deal with herself.

The Witch said coldly, “You want to go and ask the fairy how to defeat me? Dream on!”

Then she reached out her hand and tried to grab Cinderella.

But just as she reached out, a giant grabbed her hand.

The giant said to Cinderella, “You run fast! Not far ahead is Thorn Hill. Go quickly to the fairy! I’m so big, she can’t hurt me.”

Cinderella nodded and ran, hoping to find the fairy in time.

Summary: Bravery and Kindness Are the Real Strengths

Although Cinderella was small, she was willing to risk her life for others. The giant may look scary, but he is actually kind and brave. Their cooperation gave Cinderella the chance to continue her mission.

This journey teaches us that no matter how weak we may seem, we can do great things if we have love and courage in our hearts.
